Cannabis can provide food, fiber, fuel, medicine, and yes an intoxicant.

Question why is it that a “plant” mentioned in the creation book has KILLED NO ONE, but “Man Made LEGAL” drugs KILL on a daily basis. Could it be as simple as one is GOOD, and the other EVIL?

Hemp as an Agricultural Commodity

Summary

The terms “hemp” and “industrial hemp” refer to varieties of Cannabis sativa characterized by low levels of the primary psychoactive chemical (tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC) in their leaves and flowers. Farmers in more than 30 countries worldwide grow industrial hemp commercially for fiber, seed, and oil for use in a variety of industrial and consumer products, including food. Because of the psychoactive properties of some varieties of Cannabis (which can grow virtually anywhere in the United States), the federal government began to control production in the late 1930s, under the Marihuana Tax Act (50 Stat. 551). The intent of this act was to allow production for industrial use (which the government actively encouraged during World War II), while discouraging production for use as a psychotropic drug.

Since 1970, the production of all varieties of Cannabis, regardless of THC content and intended use, has been tightly regulated under the Controlled Substances Act (21 U.S.C. §§802 et seq.). As a result, all hemp or hemp-containing products sold in the United States must now be imported or manufactured from imported hemp.

There being no reported use for CANNABIS as “Medicinal” is in fact
FALSE when the United States Patent Office HAS issued over 1,000 patents for the use of “cannabinoids” found in the (cannabis) plant. At lest one of these has been issued issued to the United States Department of Health.

LEGAL MEDICATION CAN and DOES KILL!

For Immediate Release: February 20, 2013 (CDC)
Note: (this is LEGALLY Prescribed medication)

CDC’s analysis shows that 38,329 people died from a drug overdose in the United States in 2010, up from 37,004 deaths in 2009. This continues the steady rise in overdose deaths seen over the past 11 years, starting with 16,849 deaths in 1999. Overdose deaths involving opioid analgesics have shown a similar increase. Starting with 4,030 deaths in 1999, the number of deaths increased to 15,597 in 2009 and 16,651 in 2010.

In 2010, nearly 60 percent of the drug overdose deaths (22,134) involved pharmaceutical drugs. Opioid analgesics, such as oxycodone, hydrocodone, and methadone, were involved in about 3 of every 4 pharmaceutical overdose deaths (16,651), confirming the predominant role opioid analgesics play in drug overdose deaths.

The researchers also found that drugs often prescribed for mental health conditions were involved in a significant number of pharmaceutical overdose deaths. Benzodiazepines (anti-anxiety drugs) were involved in nearly 30 percent (6,497) of these deaths; antidepressants in 18 percent (3,889), and antipsychotic drugs in 6 percent (1,351).

In it entire history of 2,000 plus YEARS “Death due to CANNABIS” ZERO (0)!

With ALL the BAD information for the past 80 YEARS on this issue, we being CITIZENS of the “Natural State” and with UNNATURAL Federal and State laws, rules and regulations have done the following;

OUR HISTORY

This group was formed in January of 2010. In March of that year the "face-book page" was launched. With at least one meeting a month (which continues to this date) a draft was compiled and in August of 2010 two (2) representatives, Jon Woods, and Kathy Webb, along with Senator Laverty had in there possession "Drafts" of our proposed "Legislation". There was NO reason that a Bill was NOT READY to file when the legislators convened in 2011.

For whatever reason our legislative "support" DID NOT follow what we were led to believe after our meetings with elected officials of the state.

On January 12th and 13th, of 2011, the first ever, and as far as we can tell the ONLY, "Cannabis Educational Roundhouse" (Copy of Flier is on our website at www.a4mc.ws) was held in the Arkansas State Capitol Rotunda for those two days. At that time ALL elected House and Senate members were provided the book Titled "Cannabis Yields and Dosage"(click here to get your FREE copy) by Chris Conrad.

As our attempt at a "Citizens effort" to get laws changed was not well received, we decided to go the way of a "Citizens Right To Petition", and filed a Ballot Initiative with the Attorney Generals office. We were not able for various reasons to get this effort approved, one being the lack of funding to challenge the AG's opinions in State Court.

(Note; Arkansans for Compassionate Care, was able to get there Initiative on the ballot for 2012, but failed in the general election.)

In 2013 two members of the original group formed a “Ballot Question Committee” to aid in placing this on the ballot for 2014.

In 2013 an attempt was made again to get a “medical cannabis” initiated act approved by the AG, again we were denied several times. The last time we attempted to get the Arkansas high court involved but the “Clerk Of Courts” denied our filing. We found out later that he/she has that authority, it seems that to MAKE them obey Arkansas election code you must file with the court AGAINST the clerk, and IF the court rules in your favor you can file your motion. At that time we were told to file in Pulaski Circuit Court which we did, BUT now we have to file a motion that the lower court has no standing. ALL of this takes time, money and effort.

In June 2013, we filed with the AG's office an amended version of a 1997 APPROVED Constitutional Amendment ENDING the “Prohibition of the Cannabis Plant” that has also been rejected.

We are currently reviewing our options in this matter.

Due to the continued support of our Veterans and the Citizens of this great State we ARE NOT going away.

Our Citizens, Veterans and Guests of "The Natural State" who prefer a "Safer Alternative" should NOT be labeled a criminal and be denied a "Medicinal Herb" that there Health Care Provider feels may be in there best interest!
